Touring the UK for 2019, these puppets are delighting audiences across the country, in this wonderful revival of Leslie Bricusse’s much loved musical Dr.Dolittle!
This was an ambitious make: 52 puppets, 27 individual designs, including a double headed llama (the infamous pushme-pullyu!), a sabre toothed tiger, a small faced bear and a giant pink sea snail!
To create the puppets a skilled and hardworking team of 14 makers worked flat out for 4 months, carving and patterning plastazote, assembling and painting a beautiful cast of colourful and charismatic animal characters.
If you are interested in seeing more about these puppets there is a Dolittle making page coming soon with many behind the scenes photos of the puppets in development.
